WaterWorks

What's New

It's been discovered that it's possible to use WaterWorks on Windows 2000 and XP by enabling the Windows 98 compatibility mode. Microsoft have a page in the Knowledge Base which describes how to turn the compatibility mode on and then make a program, in our case Terragen of course, use it. The page can be found at :

http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q279/7/92.ASP

Please note that you need to make sure your copies of Windows 2000 or XP are fully up to date, check the Windows Update site to make sure. Two packages that someone mentioned they needed to install were the "Critical Updates Package" and "Windows 2000 Compatibility Updates Package".

Please note that as I am primarily a Mac user and that I don't have Windows 2000 or XP, I am not really the best person to ask if you run into problems. If you aren't already a member, I would suggest that you join the Terragen mailing list, where people will be happy to provide you with some assistance. You can join the list here.

I'd like to thank the people on the list who first discovered the compatibility mode was in fact a viable option, and Steve for finding the above link to the Microsoft site.

Lastly, don't forget that WaterWorks requires the TGPGuiLib to run. You can get the latest version at it's website.
